70 Steering column
« on: August 24, 2014 - 05:04:05 PM »
I have a floor shift automatic 70 Challenger. I have a 71 steering column with the finger activated key release. I want to put a proper 70 column in it. Do I need any other parts except the complete column fo rthe lock out to work?

The lock out was a set of linkage tied to the trans to pivot the column it mounts with a cross shaft from the trans to frame  , you may want to re-think this the 71 is better

So a 70 column will not work if the linkage isn't installed, or just the lock out won't work?

70 works fine , without the linkage you will have to manually rotate the column to return the key to the lock position though
