that doesn`t look right...  almost looks like they didn`t calculate a 4-5%  shrink for the plastic   :clueless:   shape doesn`t look great either

I've seen that gap on a lot of cuda's including mine. The gap starts off tight untill you bolt the lower valence on and it seems to push the fenders apart.

Seen the same gap on allot of Cudas as well:  I can't say they came that way from the factory back in the day, but shrinkage from heat/sun over the last 40 + years is prob normal over the years

My fenders, grille, and lower valence are OEM and I have a gap on one side.

You can play with the fender adjustment...loosen the two bolts on the rad support and tweak the valance :2cents:

Was it an older epoxy cast grille reproduction or a metro injected grille?

I know this is an old topic, but I haven't  found anyone  else mention this . I am having this same issue. I have all oem front sheet metal and the new grille that Roseville sells. I have the old grille too with same fitting issues. What is the "acceptable " tolerance? I have at least 3/8 of a gap on each side. I have the front pulled in as much as it can go without doing any damage to the fenders. I used a ratchet strap to pull it in. It is  worse when I put the valance on . I'm thinking of taking a slice out of the valance to shorten it up just a bit, but that won't be easy!. Just doing all my final assembly and Im stuck on this for days . Any help or advise would be much appreciated!  :pullinghair:

Acceptable? That's up to you, I doubt anyone looking at the car would ever notice.
I know the feeling though, because you know it's there, it's bothers you.
IMO, go with what you have.  There will be plenty of over issues to tackle that will make this insignificant.

But if is the last problem on your list, tweak/cut the valance.

If it's any consolation for you, I have OEM louvered 71 fenders and grille.

There's a gap between the grille and fender on one side and not as much on the other side.

That's just the way they came from the factory.

Mine is like yours... I had a shop quote me 5K to make it perfect.   So, mine still looks like yours hahaha.   I'd find other things to throw less money at in the interim.
