    Chopped off wires in dash. How to fix.

    Since my car did not come with a radio, the chopped of bundle of wires in the dash must be for the rallye gauges. The bundle has about 10 wires in it including a pair of heavier gauge wires, one black one red.
    I'm thinking the simplest fix is find section of harness used and splice it in. Anyone have experience with this? I'm not ready to strip the car down for paint yet rather get it running to sort it out.

    Donor Harness, solder, heat shrink.. Where are you located? Someone might have a donar harness...

    New harnesses are expensive...yes!

    Might want to think new....Or one in better shape.

    A burnt car is even more expenxive.   :2cents:

    Done properly the repair wouldn't be an issue assuming there are no other problems with the harness....Personally I'd be adding relays for all the major current draws, a direct 8ga lead between the alternator & battery. bypassing the ammeter & add a voltmeter...

    BTW the heavier gauge red & black wires originally attach to the ammeter so if you want to bypass the ammeter you can simply connect those two wires together...
