Buidling hemiCuda with EFI. Suggestions?
« on: September 06, 2014 - 04:27:09 AM »
Hi guys,

Im about to build a 1971 hemiCuda (out of a barracuda). I'm looking for a nice daily driver (will never be raced), good highway driving and reliability.

I want a 426 HEMI with Electronical Fuel Injection. My Qs

* Where to find crate 426 hemi with EFI? Turnkey.

What do you think about this setup? Or should I go with a 440 EFI? Or even 340 six pack EFI :)

cheers,

e-body for life

If you find one let me know. I spoke with Tim Banning, one of the world's leading Hemi builders...He puts together a dual throttle body EFI system, but it adds $5K-$6K to the cost of a Hemi....
Check him out... http://www.forhemisonly.com/index.html

I know Tim Bannings. He build my 496 Hemi in my Charger.

Maybe just buy a hemi without carb and add Holley EFI or Fast EFI?

I spoke with Tim as well and the $5k-$6k is for port injected. You can do a FAST dual throttle body setup for about $2500 and it will be a lot better than carburetors. I'm not sure which way I'm going to go on mine.
