The right parts vendor
« on: September 14, 2014 - 02:14:29 PM »
Hey Guys,
Since I sold the Cuda, the wife has authorized/ allocated 2250 for Challenger resto parts, I want to make sure I get the most for the money.

That being said, I have done plenty of research and have found that YO has the best prices, shipping, discounts and selection. Have y'all found the same thing or am I way off base here? If I am, and CI or Roseville can do me better, PLEASE don't hesitate to say so.....

Here is a list of what I am planning on getting
Carpet, Black
Seat covers, for a 74, white,  I have the original 70 seats but they need foam, backs and hinge covers, so to save some cash, I'll use the 74's
Door panels, front and rear, white
Interior screw kit
Window whiskers
Front bumper and brackets
Connecting plates for grille to hood latch
I'm sure the list will grow but this is it for now.
All for a 70 Challenger
Thanks Guys!

The reason the interior panels are cheaper at YearOne is because they sell the Palco crap that nobody wants.

It's one thing to try and work on a budget but if you want to avoid buying the cheapest crap on the market, it's better to spend more money up front.
YearOne offers some pretty good discounts, sometimes as high as 30% off, but they don't always sell the best quality parts.

I've been restoring cars for 30+ years. The best advice I could give you is avoid the "one stop" shopping mind set and shop around for the best price on each item. The internet, especially EBay, can be your best friend. There's so much competition out there that everybody is trying to beat everybody else.

Like carpet, YearOne might have a decent price, Roseville might beat it, but search EBay....as long as you know the name brand you want, there's probably a dozen "pop-up" vendors giving the stuff away to get business...mostly with free shipping even.

Shop around :2cents:

Thanks,

I certainly don't want to buy the cheapest crap and if I'm gonna spend a grand on interior stuff, I would rather have it be excellent quality.

I am especially concerned with the door panels and which reproduction is the closest to the original grain, color and fit.

I am happy with the fit and finish of the Challenger door panels I bought from Dave at Roseville.  :2cents:
I also bought front and rear bumpers from him and they are very nice. They were keystone I think.

Thanks David!

I am for sure wanting the door panels (do these come with the clips?) , carpet, and seat covers. (Seat covers, seat backs and foam for the 70 seats are a maybe depending on price, so if you can include pricing for those as well as a set of 74 covers, I can make a clear decision)
Secondary is the bumper, brackets and grille to hood latch plates
Looking forward to doing business with you.....

Frank
