That is a valid point about being able to post replies to people ads...Maybe the "mods" could keep a watchful eye to make sure that any replies are only asking questions about the car or other particulars and not just an open comment about the asking price or bashing of the car :2cents:

I see no need to change our forum rules at this time. I see no bashing of the car or owner, just a couple of folks that think the price is a little high. I say run the ad for whatever price he wants and the buyers or lack of buyers will set the final price. Nice car....    :2thumbs:

valid point on replies in for sale topics. This may be the only or one of the few boards that allow it, but it`s also one of the few where members and mods just won`t have someone bash another member`s ride for whatever reason... that`s what makes this CC and not just another board   :2cents:

:iagree:. Yep, well said Bart and didn't the seller ask about his pricing in the first place? How else do you get a feel for what the market is, if you don't ask? I guess you could spend 1/2 your life looking at Ebay or CL listings, but that's lame. No one's holding a gun to the man's head- he'll sell it for whatever the hell he wants. And, as mentioned, that's just my  :2cents:

Pretty nice Cuda!
How about a shot of the tag?
The price may seem agressive to some but you will find these boards do not have the largest group of agressive buyers. I think these 340 4 speed cars are the best driving E-bodies and not everyone can appreciate the value of a real one that is nice.
Be patient and see what happens in the Spring, the market might catch up by then.

I'm a member on quite a few car related internet forums. This has to be one of the only ones that allows other people to post on some ones classified add. And the one reason I wont list my 70 Cuda on here when I decide to sell it. The way I see it is, if you don't like the price, or even if you love the car or the deal, keep on kick'n tires and don't post on the add. Too bad that's not how it works on here...And here's and instance where the guy's FIRST post is on someone's classified add. The only people that knock prices are the ones looking to buy. And MOST people looking to buy a finished turn key car have never restored a car from the ground up. Pay a body shop to build a car like this one, you'll be in deeper than the asking price...Here's my two cents- raise the price back up where you had it!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes I am looking for a 70 Cuda 4 speed as stated in my response. I did not bash the car or the price, in fact I said it was gorgeous. I just reiterated what others said about the current market pricing. You make a big assumption about car buyers. I didn't realize it was a crime to not have restored a car from the ground up before looking to buy a restored car. What are all those people doing at Barrett-Jackson? They should be looking thru old barns and in the back lots of Graveyard Cars. The premise of THIS board is people post their vehicles and people comment on them. Nothing malicious or degrading. I guess this board is not for you. I find it very interesting and informative as I'm looking to find that perfect Mopar. The OP is free to ask whatever price he wants.

I didn't get that impression from the restored car thing.  What I got was, you end up spending 3x the amount to have a car restored when you're "paying" someone else to do the work.  For example, if you think $49k is a lot, try building the same car/same condition and see what the bill would be.
Oh...and welcome to CC

If for whatever reason I had to sell either of my mopars they would be going to a hardcore mopar car owner.

I know that I will never get the $$$ back, at least all of it but just knowing that someone else appreciates what went into it will lessen the blow.

I have spent countless days, nights and weekends scouring junkyards, teletype machines, classified ads and such chasing down parts. Obviously pre internet days. I've been there and done that as the saying goes when it comes to restoring vehicles. It's more of a labor of love and the personal satisfaction that comes from a job well done, ie a pat on your own back. It's never about the money. I've dealt with body shops, speed shops, fabricators, frame shops and the like. What I do know is I'm too old to go thru that again. I learned to drive in a 1956 Dodge Panel truck and worked up from there. I know a sweet machine when I see one and this Cuda is such a thing. You just have to look at the small details. At this point in my life, all I want to do is take the cover off, dust it down and hit the shows and cruises. The Chryslers at Carlisle was almost too much for the ticker :wow: last year. I will pay market price/slash going rate which is subjective, but can't justify overspending on a car.

Thanks for the welcome in.

Very nice! Love the color!

From the pics she looks great with lots of details. At the least - one can see lots of time has been spent in doing so with some perfection given.

As a hands on guy myself its true about having that 'labor of love' thing as an rewarding hobby. The more you repeat operations, the more experienced you get. A few times over time, you can stand in the group to talk and walk with some knowledge. Whether people agree with your process of application really doesn't matter as much - attempting to get it correct with the end result for you is what counts - your own way, easiest for you, with your tools and in your surroundings and atmosphere.

The main thing is your involved in this product from the past - once produced - marketed - driven - relished in the heyday - dreams were made and the stories that have been written and told! I'm glad to have been part of that history, for me its a way to bring it some of it back.

Stand your ground - this is part of the process. After the sale all will be forgotten.

Really really nice car.  You can see the effort that went into putting the cuda together.
You could never restore a car to that level without spending more then your asking price.
It is always is a labor of love in putting these cars together.
I struggle with the same dilemma, to what level do I restore my car with the expectation that I would never get back the total money put in to get the car to a certain level.
Wish you the best for the sale.
