New date coded repro power steering return hose
« on: September 17, 2014 - 10:35:31 PM »
Has anyone experienced the quality of these date coded return hose?  I have them when I purchased a repro power steering cooler.  Came with the cooler.  Last week, I was backing up and lost steering and smok'n under the hood.  Sure enough, the hose came off the steering box.  The hose felt soft and mushy.  Lost all my steering fluid in the parking lot.  Thank goodness it happened in a lot.  All I had to do was reattach the hose and add fluid.  Then a big mess to clean up at home.  I ended up getting new Gates hoses to replace the mushy hose.

After cruising around today, my repro P/S return hose blew off today right as I returned and made a huge mess.   :pullinghair:

No more! Corbin clamp that sucker on!

I know how you feel.  Did it come off at the steering box outlet? And you are right, the Corbin clamps are weak.

Yes at the steering box.

Actually corbin clamps are better. They're not the red one's.
