Ideas for cleaning vinyl top
« on: September 19, 2014 - 09:40:34 PM »
I have a white vinyl convertible top and have some yellowing that I would like to remove.  Do any of you have any suggestions  on cleaning products or past success with this problem.  Top was replaced back in 1987, but the car has seen the inside of a garage more than it has been outside.  It's in great shape, but the yellowing is unsightly.
Thanks, Mike
Mike

I wonder if the yellowing is from an ArmorAll type product?  I know Whesley's Bleach White works great on raised white letters. I wonder what it would do to a vinyl top? I hope there is something that will work for you. Maybe have a talk with an upholstery shop.

Yellowing of vinyl can also be caused by florescent lights which is what many people use in their garages. So make sure you use a car cover to protect it even in the garage.
