Stopped at a local Dodge dealers showroom today to look at. 70' RT SE Challenger the dealership owner owns. Last saw it a few years ago in the dealership showroom. This time had more appreciation for the details of the car. As I understand from the past the dealership owner had this car in as a demo when new as that was a common thing to do and just kept it.
The color is a metallic brown ( burnt orange maybe) with an off-white vinyl top. The interior is (burnt orange) with a matching SE headliner in perfect shape. The only thing I really don't like about it , other than it doesn't belong to me is the spoked hub caps. Rally wheels would help with the look in a huge way but it's probably the way it came from the factory.
I could not read the current mileage but when the bio on the car was posted a while back it was around 12,000mi. Really low in my book. It has a 440 4bbl, A/C, power windows, 3 speaker dash, rear window de-forger auto transmission with console. However it does not say "slap stick" on the selector. Missed what radio it has. It has a black grill and a perfect argent rear finish panel.
It's interesting to see original cars that have hardly been touched or driven over the last 44 years. It's really a time capsule. Not restored with a clear coat over color coat, just baked enamel just as it was from the factory. Every visible part clean and crisp as it was back back in the day.
The only downside of a beautiful car like this is it is only original once. If something happens to it or if driven too much it isn't new or original any more. Maybe it's best if someone else owns it so it can be appreciated and studied but you don't have to worry about something happening to it. Or like me desperately wanting to change wheels and tires changing it from stock.
