1970 cuda door top molding/belt molding

Hey I could need some help here. I just got new clips for my belt moldings/ door top moldings because the ones on the car where super loose and it is time to replace them. When it took the old ones of, they came right of the previous owner attached the old rotten clips with silicon. So I just resieved my new set today but I have a now idea how to get them back on. I understand how the clips work. I put the clips in the whole and slide the lil post in the whole which secures the clip. But I cant see a way how to slide the actual trim on the clipse 
I'm pretty sure there is a farly easy way to get those on!

Turn the trim over, there are some wide spots where you push the trim clips into the trim, and then on to the car.  Also note, there is (one per side) that are metal and they go on the door.

Put all the plastic clips on the door. Hook one side of the trim on the clips and with a fast firm wack...clip the trim on....be carefull not to dent the trim.

Alan, I tried that on mine and half the clips broke.....where are you getting you clips from?  I got mine from a site sponsor, however I am not blaming them as they didn't manufacture the clips.

Odd...Never seen them break before unless they are 40 years old....I've bought them from R/T Specialities or MegaParts in the past.
