Mystery light issue for me
« on: September 30, 2014 - 11:04:22 PM »
Front driver side valence(blinker) light will blink just fine when the headlights and parking lights are off. When you turn headlights or parking lights on, then it won't even light up or blink. Won't light up either when just parking lights are on. I have tried everything that i can think of. Any ideas?

Try a temporary direct ground with a wire to the socket even using an alligator clip. Grounds can be so finicky.

I will give it a shot tomorrow. I was thinking about running a separate wire. I had to ground wire side lights on the back, to get them to work.

Often the socket will lose contact with the housing, take a start punch & stake the socket where it meets the housing

Solved.  I took a small punch and popped it once on the outside where the socket and housing come together. Light now works. Now if only all my other little electrical issues can be fixed that easy. Thanks Chryco
