    Also found this. Wonder if the Mobil 1 Synthetic I use has enough zinc. Or is the fact that I have
    a roller cam help me avoid problems?

    Thanks for the link. Good information for sure. I had a new cam go flat on me about 4 yrs ago in a 350 chevy. I am sure it was because of the new oil without the zinc. I paid $5.00 a quart for comp cams break in oil, on my new 440, flat tappet cam. If you have a roller cam, I am sure you will be ok with synthetic.

    just noticed in the above chart that the Mobil 1 High Mileage has extra zinc.

    You want the 15W50 Synthetic Mobil 1 as it has a healthy dose of Zinc and Phosphorus for the older engines.

    I use high mileage Mobil 1 and add zinc additive anyways, just in case. The high mileage stuff is somehow supposed to help with worn valve guides.  :dunno:
