Anyone have experiance with silicone rad hoses?

I'm just piecing together my rad combo and came across on e-bay and other sites for silicone hoses ?

I've run this stuff for custom air cleaners but never for rad hoses. It "says" good to 260C  but this is offshore stuff? 
Anyone use this stuff ,good or bad?

Brad, I had a Caprice 9C1 cop car that had the green silicone hoses on it...they were still good at 180,000 miles when I parted with it.

Goodyear makes the Hi-Miler hoses for fleet use that are made out of EPDM that are claimed to last 8 times as long as rubber so that is basically lifetime, I think.

There are lotsa places that sell silicone hoses in various sizes and bends for turbo cars.  I never thought to ask where they were built but I have ordered quite a few over the years.  They hold up under oil and heat well but I never thought about making radiator hoses from them.

I've used silicone hose for heater hose but not rad hose. No problems with the heater hoses if that helps? They were blue but I forget the brand.

I believe recalling back in the 80's when Police cars had Dodge Diplomats that they had 318 or 360 engines with the Silicone hoses.

Used them on diesel powered transport refrigeration systems. They were an option when you ordered a new unit. I loved them. When one came in for service they were easy to remove and did not get hard like the rubber ones. I never had to replace a silicone hose unless it got damaged, but I replaced alot of the rubber ones.

Reason I asked was I was wondering about using aluminum tubing rad hoses( won't collapse, dissipates heat)  and these silicon rubber ends/elbows to connect them with. I wonder if they would be more durable than a regular rad hose.  We use the tubing for rad hoses in circle track racing but for hose most use this hydraulic hose( almost bullet proof!) that's about 3/8" thick and only available in straight lengths.
I already have/bought some of the aluminum tube to weld hose ends onto my new rad.

We know how to create things in North America.
We just don't know how to compete on manufacturing costs.

I've run silicone hoses on my Triumph SpeedTriple 1050 for probably about 5 years now. Heck maybe 6. No issues whatsoever, they work great and still look exactly like they did new, despite being exposed. Mine are made by Samco, great, high quality stuff. http://www.samcosport.com/usa/

They make kits for cars, the even list a set for '70 440 Challengers, and an "early" and "late" version as well...
