Convertible top boot storage bag
« on: October 10, 2014 - 09:13:06 AM »
The original boot cover for my 1970 Challenger convertible survived but its storage bag did not. Does anyone have photos of what the original storage bag looked like? Does anyone sell accurate reproductions?

I see that Classic and Year One sell a generic black vinyl boot storage bag, but I'd like to get as close to original as possible. Legendary does not list them in their catalog. Would appreciate readers' thoughts. Thanks.

What do you need a bag for?  They just stay attached to the back seat and lay down into the well liner when not in use.  Right?

I've seen some people leave them attached to the channel on the rear seat back, but did not know that is common practice. Was it done that way even from the factory? This is my first Mopar convertible, so I am learning as I go. I do know that GM and Ford in that era used storage bags, but granted, this design is different.

 :iagree:
That's what I did on my prior cuda and what I'm doing on my current one. Left it attached
Although a bag isn't a bad idea, it's just a pain to thread the boot thru the trim.
But the top should be down (boot in use) majority of the time for maximum happiness.   :2thumbs:
