Best cam for a stock 360

Im helping a friend out, he has a flat cam in a bone stock 71 360. all he wants to do is quick throw a cam and lifters in what is the best one for the job? it will be behind a stock converter and probably 3:91s. anyone have suggestions?

It depends on a lot of variables, but Lunati Voodoo series cams seem to sound good and run great.

Old technology. They are cool, but there are much better alternatives for near the same money..    :2cents:

he had also asked about putting a stock 340 cam in it, would that work? i have never heard of that.

Dose anyone know the difference in spec between the two ?
My 360 has a 340 cam, just curious on the differences, whether just more lift or longer durations in/exh etc ?

the 340 cam has more lift & duration BUT AS I RECALL the lift is only .440 range , with similar idle & vacuum you can now have closer to .480 lift

If he flattened a lobe and didn't tear it down and clean it up, he is setting it up for a future repeat of the failure.

Any of the brands suggested are decent. If it is truly a stock 360, I'd try something with a short exhaust duration to build cylinder pressure, which is something the stock 360s lack.
