I was thinking of using Edelbrock Performer RPM intake as you mentioned.  I like the Edelbrock 750 as well, So I may go with that to.  For the Comp Cams Xtreme Energy 274H it's at 230/236 degrees at 0.050 inches,  274/286 (measured at .006-inch tappet rise), Lift for that cam is .488 int./.491exh.

Cam is fine, Edelbrock 750 AFB is known to have tuning issues, I fought one myself, never did get it to run as well as the Holley that replaced it straight out of the box..& once I set the Holley up it was night & day...
