Are Reproduction parts available for a 1971 Cuda Grille?
« on: October 20, 2014 - 11:02:54 AM »
I bought an e body parts lot over the weekend. A reproduction 71 Cuda grille was included. It needs some repair on both ends. But came with the headlight rings, chrome surrounds. It only has one of the six cheese cutter inserts.

Are reproduction inserts available? The grille needs some work but would be worth making it look nice as long as the inserts don't cost a fortune to get

I'd check with Dave at Roseville. I think they are available.

I don't think you can buy the reproduction pieces separately. I patiently await Dave's answer too :dunno:

I would think they would be available at some point to sell separately or as an insert set. Its great that you can buy the whole grille with everything included. But what do you do if something cracks?

I will email DAve too!

I emailed Dave and he emailed right back. He said he didn't sell the cuda grille parts but Metro, even though out of business, may have some leftover parts.

Dave also said that I have the Black Premier Grille which is prone to warpage in extreme heat. So it's really not a good grille to install and is not being produced.

So I think my best bet is to relinquish this grille to garage art. I would hate to fix it up and use or sell it and have it warp down the road.

The good thing is I got it with a huge e body parts stash so it's not a huge problem just a disappointment  :faint:

You may stash it for awhile and see if you can find what you need at various Mopar swap meets.

I did find out that the grille trim is available.

I recall last year seeing the new grille inserts on E Bay.
Not there now.

Tom I'm just seeing this post for the first time. I've had a few of those grilles over the years and I agree with Dave that was one of the reproductions made years ago by Premier Plastics. They fit most of the time but they did warp.  I heard they ripped off a lot of people before they closed their doors and disappeared. I would agree with you and hang it on the wall as garage art. With the new reproductions grilles available for $900 with all the trim that one isn't really worth messing with.

Yup, I hung it yesterday. I might paint it later to make it stand out better. I also got a BF Goodrich green cuda banner, so I hung that too!
