Rallye dash resto for 73 Barracuda?
« on: October 23, 2014 - 02:12:03 PM »
I need to have the dash restored in the 73 Barracuda (rallye dash).  Is there a company that will restore the entire dash assembly and harness?

Looks like they mainly do just the cluster?  I am trying to find a service that I can remove my VIN (for safe keeping), ship the entire dash assembly and have it restored along with the dash harness.

:thinkerg: sounds like a job for alan [anlauto] even though he would still have to send the i/p cluster out get your dash core and send to just dashes and buy a a/m wiring harness from an outside source.put it all together and get it back to you.easilly a few grand  :2cents:

i myself don't know anyone that does the total assembly, altough i would think any resto shop could do it by following above process.

good luck.

Do not ship the dash with the vin still attached, remove the vin tag.
There are repo's for the star rivet.
If you live on west coast Just Dashes do excellant restoration.

I have heard good things about instrument specialties, pricey but good.

Where are you located ?

We recently moved to Amarillo Texas.  Not sure what it would be like to ship the dash assembly to Canada and back?  This is the car I talked to you about redoing several years ago.  Once we moved back, where we stored the cars, it made it easier to work on them a little at a time.  The car saw sunlight for the first time since 2006, a few days ago.  :2thumbs:

As far as shipping, I had good luck before with Uship.com.
How they work across borders; I have no experience or recommendations.
Worth looking into.

Perhaps some northern neighbors here near the border could assist you to help ease the shipping issue?

Interesting that in 73 they used a strap to hold up the heater box from the front.
