71 cuda center grille bracket

I'm looking for a center grille bracket  for a 71 cuda. It's the piece that bolts valance in front of the hood and the hood release post. Anyone have one of know who sells them?

if thats what your looking for i have one used just needs to be cleaned up. i bought cause had a hood latch lever on it dont think the guy knew what he was selling . can post pics $20.00 plus shipping

It is attached to that bracket. I circled  it in blue

That bracket is a welded part of your header panel. It's not removable, or at least it's not supposed to be

You would need to change the whole header panel or some how attach that piece to it (weld). But first you would have to find a donating header panel.

I have one I would cut up for you, but hopefully someone would have a toasted header panel that they could sell you. Mine is pretty decent.

I'll go look at the car I thought it was a spot for bolts. I guess not. The car is painted so I don't want to replace the whole header panel

There's probably room for a couple of small screws or even pop rivits that won't be seen once the grill is in place

is that bracket piece on all 70 to 74 barracuda header panels?   The one that I have doesnt have this either..and doesnt look like it has ever had one...

Yes and No....It's on all 1971-74's NOT 70's and 73-74 are slightly different then 71-72's

The later ones have a reinforcement plate added for mounting the horns

Uh oh good thing I saw this, about to get the car into paint so (unfortunatly) catching at a good time.   Guess I have a 70 panel then.  Can I still use it on my 71 and bolt up on the 71 grille...and even if it does, do I even want to as I am guessing by not having this, I have more chances that the 71 grille might crack or something??

And that leads me to the next question then.  Will the hood latch mechnaism on the 70 header panel work on my 71 or I am i out of luck there as well?!

The part in the picture is definitely not a 1970. Can't tell for sure, but is in the 71-74 range. The 1970 is a very large part and the grill actually fits inside the framework.
