Missing convertible quarter window track?
« on: November 28, 2011 - 10:17:03 PM »
I recently bought a 70 gc convertible. A piece of the top frame is missing, it is the piece that holds the quarter window in place and seals it with the top. I am attaching a photo with this. I have been looking around and havnt had any luck. Anybody have one of these or any idea where i can find one? Thanks for any help

Quick fuel gauge question
« Reply #1 on: December 02, 2011 - 11:04:34 PM »
We just put the dash in tonight (whew)! The dash was upside down for a while, when the dash was turned right side up and installed, the fuel gauge needle flopped over to the full side. Now before I tighten up all the bolts and route all the wires, will the gauge go back to normal when power is applied or should I take the dash out again and make sure the needle is pointed in the right direction?

Now is the time to remove the dash again if I have to. It would be very sad if I installed the whole interior and got the car back together only to find that the needle is stuck on full.

Finally! Bought a 71 Challenger R/T in beautiful Hemi Orange paintjob and 426 HEMI engine AND a nice 70 Charger R/T with 440 and a blower, wearing that nice EK2 Go Mango color.
Both for my daughter and she likes them more than a 69 'maro and "a" ford. Just for 5 zlotys not 50kusd.

My 1970 Plum Crazy V Code R/T project
« Reply #3 on: December 12, 2012 - 04:23:59 AM »
Well, I know I said no more projects, but this was too good to pass up. I did what I could, which included selling my 68 Satellite, and bought this 1970 Challenger R/T. The car is a numbers matching original 41,000 mile, 440 six -pack automatic car (missing the six pack) - plum crazy, white top, white stripes, white guts! This color combo has been a obsession of mine since I was a kid, as was the V code power plant. The car has sat since 2004. The body is really decent.. the trunk and floor pans are great.. some minor issues, but I have seen worse. The car runs and drives, but with the timing of getting this car in December, it only took a couple of hours staring at it in my garage to decide I want to tear it down and build a nice driver.

What size connections to power steering gear box?
« Reply #4 on: May 28, 2013 - 05:21:54 PM »
Does anyone know the exact size, thread of the connection on the power steering gear box?

I need to make a new pressure hose for my 3g hemi conversion and need to figure out the connection size at the 3g truck pump, and at the factory gear box.

If anyone has these dimensions or makes hoses for this conversion, please let me know.

Thanks!
Chris

Also if I am swapping out the the 3.23 for a 3.70 gears do I need to replace the entire center section or can I just do the gears ?

Distributor questions
« Reply #9 on: September 07, 2014 - 08:01:05 PM »
This weekend I did some work on my 340 small block; installed new spark plugs, new Taylor wires and a new elcectronic distributor to replace the old Accel dual point.

The question I have is that I had #1 cylinder on TDC and the rotor on the Accel distributor lined up.  When I went to drop in the new distributor the rotor was lining up near the #4 cylinder; not sure what to do?  The distributor is a low buck item I found on e-bay (on a budget - daughter in college).  I would appreciate any suggestions on which direction to go from here.

Thanks,
Mike
