Hi, I have just joined up here. I have had my 73 Challenger for 20 years and finally finished building it into a Sam Posey 77 Tribute car.
It's still got the 73 back end but 70 front and quarters. It's only a look a like, not a race car, but it's great fun and really turns head over here.
Still 318 2 barrel, but I drive it a fair bit and fuel is £1.25 a litre so 318 suits me for now.
The car still needs loads of work but is back on the road after 20 years with all the rust taken out.
We built it in time to drive it to the Le Mans Classic this year, 800 miles round trip with no problems except losing the exhaust on the ramp before the Channel Tunnel.
I will post some pics soon.
Inspiration was seeing the genuine car at Goodwood Festival of Speed in 1997. I've had a photo of it on the garage wall since then, and my son said "Why don't we build that?"
It seemed like a good idea and the 73 had been messed with too much to ever be completely factory again, so we did it.
