Removing side glass and e-brake?
« on: November 03, 2014 - 08:41:40 PM »
Okay to continue my "before it goes to the body shop". Lol

I need to remove the side glass (door and quarter).  The car will be media blasted so everything has to come out.  How do I tackle the glass?  Looking it over it appears that I would need to remove the glass before the tracks come out?  Or is there a way to pull the entire assembly as one?

The E-brake cable.  I have the entire pedal loose inside the car. The cable goes through the firewall, passes into the drivers front wheel area and back through the frame rails on the drivers side.  What holds the cable in the crossmember rail?  It feels like it just goes through the frame rail and angles to the crossmember rail.  I don't see a clip or anything. But it is not moving at all?

disconnect the regulator first then loosen the tracks , the rear of the glass just hooks over the rear track , you have to remove the felt supports near the top of the door & the outer trim , rubber seal  , the regulator can be removed from the opening in the interior panel of the door , once the glass is free it can be slid out of the top of the door .
The brake cable has a small barrel clip to lock it into the crossmember , carefulle squeeze the tabs while pushing back & it wil release

Thanks for the info! :2thumbs:  We are planning to tackle it tonight!

I guess the heavy undercoating is still hiding the barrel clip on the e-brake cable.  It did a great job protecting the floors and an even better job of being a pain the .....!
