Hello, as the subject states I'm new to this forum. I grew up with Mopars in the family and I have enjoyed owning a few myself. Up until recently I have only owned newer Mopars such as my old 05 Dodge SRT4. That car was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it while I had it. However, I have always wanted to learn more about and get into older Mopars, much like my father had. So with the help of a friend last year I bought a 1971 Dodge Challenger. It once had a 383 2bl in it, but that was long gone and only the shell remained. My idea and build for this car is a complete rebuild from the ground up. It currently sits stripped, sanded, and now more recently sealed and waiting for the next step (Body work and paint). This project will take me a quite a long time, but I am enjoying the process and learning a lot! My idea with this car will be a fun street car, that I take to the track and race occasionally. So far I have a 440 block for it, and now I am just contemplating things like Stroker or non stroker (I was thinking 440 source 512 stroker kit), and what color to paint it. I have purchased a body stiffening kit (mainly wanted the frame connectors), and more recently a dana 60 4:10 out of a 69 superbee A12 (from researching it looks like I can put wider tires on the back with a b body rear end). The original color was GY9 Dark aka tawny Gold, but I am opting for a new challenger color and so far I am leaning towards Graphite Gray (But I'm still considering options like Dodges High octane red, and others). If you have any advice please share, I'm here to learn and hopefully contribute as well.
