     :wavingflag: Yep that is the plan.  Only thing is I was going to get a loaded 489 from Dr diff. Still debating on a true track or spool though

    I have a Dana from Cass with the tru trac and LOVE it!  For what you would pay for a gear pot a all new Dana is not much more? I had a 8 3/4 with 3:55 sure grip. I sold it and that made up the difference in cost , now every thing is all new axels bearings etc.... and a bullet proof Dana . Only regret is I wish I had chosen 3:73 instead of 3:55

     :wavingflag: why the gears?  Doing the math with my 727 3.55 should be perfect. What trans are you running?

    I have an auto 4 speed with OD so with my cam choice it's not "happy" at 65 mph on the hwy( 2000 rpm's). It likes 85 plus, but the police don't ..... :icon16:

     :wavingflag: I am wondering how I am going to fare now. I decided on a larger roller cam and was thinking about adding a gear vendors I'd unit. ???

    Choose careful as you likely won't want it turning 2000 rpm's @ 65 mph.......

      :wavingflag:  It is a good day, I finished my gauge panel mockup and it fits nicely.  I still have a little bit of trimming before she is ready for carbon fiber.  The only bad thing is I lose the clearance to put in a radio.  That is fine though I would rather hear the sweet sound of horsepower anyway.  If I really need one the glovebox has plenty of room.   :woohoo: :woohoo:

     :wavingflag: carbon fiber for the gauge cluster showed up today and starting the layout.  looks bada$$ so far. Now as long as I don't mess up the face.  On another note my cam showed up today. the last part need for the engine. let the build commence!!!!

    Are you just wrapping that cluster in carbon, or are you going to remove the negative when done?

     :wavingflag: I am going to attempt to remove it and fill with epoxy.  If I can get it off, thè release agent I have is for fiberglass but we will see

    Good luck, be sure to use plenty of release. Depending on what it is, hot water may help it let go as well as blowing compressed air into cavities.

     :wavingflag: I got the first couple of epoxy layers down and I think it looks pretty good.  It will need a wet sand and polish but not bad.  Unfortunately there is no way the wood core is coming out as planned.  :banghead: but it should still work nicely.  The only thing to do now is visit the piggy bank for new gauges.
