I just got a call from the machine shop, and good news for once. i got an adjustable lifter and pushrod from hughes engines to order custom thick wall push rods and when checking everything they discovered instead of the advertised .560 .565 lift with a 1.5 rocker.  i am at .586 and .600.  i hope that equals a few extra ponies!!!

Good news on the cam!  :ylsuper:  I admire all your work on the primer and block sanding.   :ylsuper: To much work for me.  That's why so far I've had my best friend (paint and body man) do all my paint prep and painting but it looks like I may have to finish up some of the painting since he is always swamped now days.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Hi guys, just got back from the desert. For those who have not been there the middle east is hotter than satan's a$$hol# right now but good to be home.  Went to the machine shop and all my engine pieces are back in the garage.   :bananasmi

:hyper: :pullinghair: it is official, I must be "that guy" who has to buy every part twice.  I was installing the beautiful moly rings on my sweet custom pistons last night and I get to #8 piston and *snap*. I broke the dang lower compression ring. WTF??? Now I have to order a new set. I am hoping I can get just one ring but I have the sneaking suspicion I will be buying a whole set. Fingers crossed :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :working:

I'd pull the pin ( pardon the pun.... :sly:) and put scribe makes on the edge of the ports on both the intake and the head so you can line up the ports.

You'll need to pull the pins on both ends. I suggest a hearty bead of RTV to seal each end as well.

Pin is pulled and waiting on my cometic head gaskets to arrive. i started mocking everything up and looking at fit. I noticed another small problem how are you guys running your heater hoses with the RPM Air gap manifold?? i see where in need to drill and put in the fitting for the water pump hose but the other heater hose does not have a good location and the one port that would work is on the wrong side of the intake.  Should i just re-route the hose or open up one of the holes on the passenger side of the manifold?

Looking at the photo of the cam plate, do you have the bolt with the oiling hole in it and the deflector plate to direct the oil for the timing chain??

Please check so you don't have any oiling issues.....

Vin.......

with the intake i got mine from indy with the heads so they might have ordered them special without the hose allowance. :clueless:

as far as the cam plate no bolts have any hoes and i am not sure what you are talking about. i put it together the way it came apart
