Dana 60 Pinion Snubbers
« on: November 06, 2014 - 10:04:02 AM »
I need a snubber for my new Dana 60.  I like the looks of the Mancinni adustable one much better than the  Mopar Performance one.

What I'm worried about is my car is stock hieght and both adjustables look like they're going to be too high even at the lower settings compared to the stock original.

Anyone use either of the adjustables with stock suspension?  or should I just get a sock style repop?

I used an adjustable one on a customer's Cuda once....Even at the lowest possible position it always hit the floor going of bumps . We took it out within a week of driving the car. :2cents:

:iagree:   I originally had an adjustable snubber on my 71 Chally and it the floor on even the smallest bump.  I just took it out and did not run a snub since it was just a cruiser.  I would question putting one on at all unless you are racing.

If you do decide to use one, I have a brand new adjustable one for sale!   On page 2 towards the bottom . . . .

Literally bent my adjustable one.   :crying:  even on the lowest adjustment it was a little tall.  And this wasn't even a Dana.  I'm getting a Dana for the car now and finding the right snubber is on my list.   :2thumbs:

Those snubbers were designed for use with super stock springs which raises the back end a couple of inches for 1/4 mile racing. I ran one for years with a lower rear height and had to cut the snubber down to make it work properly for drag racing and drive it on the streets. Would still bottom out on hard bumps.

:iagree:  I had one and cut off all the adjustable section and mounted the rubber to the flat plate. It still is close.

I use extra 1/2 leaves on the front section of the spring & clamp them with a square top U bolt , this increases traction but allows full suspension movement
