I would much rather see a car movie that does not use CGI and doesn't have some of the crazy jumps. Sort of like in the remake of gone in 60 seconds when Nicholas cage did that jump with Eleanor that sort of ruined the movie for me.

My favorite car movie "jump" was in the Dukes of Hazzard movie when they jumped onto the freeway....I always wanted to try that :burnout:

Ya that charger is nice - it's the one Nelson racing took to sema last year

I would rather have the black Charger with the blower, the Sema Charger looks too munch like my refrigerator.

You ever see the extras on the dvd on how the stunt car actually landed?  Painful!!!!!

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I read that the white car Paul Walker'character drives off in at the end was from Paul's personal collection. Very nice tribute to end the movie with. And that Charger Vin was driving at the end was awesome! I have been drooling over the Cuda since the end of 6. What a beautiful ride. The one in 7 was nice too! I also loved the Daytona in 6.

Just got home from the theater. Loved the gratuitous use of Mopars. I am guessing Motion Picture Cars (or whatever that company is called) supplied the cars. They have good taste.
The over the top stunts are fine by me. It's not like they expect people to believe some of those things can actually happen but it's fantasy. It's like watching Superman. You don't believe in flying alien men with laser beam eyes, do you? You are supposed to suspend belief in reality when you walk into a theater.
I'm going to go see it again with my kid before it's out of the theater now that I know there is no inappropriate scenes. That is one good thing about F&F, you can take kids because they don't curse that much and you actually see more skin in the Babes section here on C-C.com. I loved the cars, loved the tribute.  :angelwings:

I saw the movie and I think it was great for what it was. I love how the movie screams Mopar (showing even pistol grip shifter, clutch-brake pedals and B-body Plymouth tach!!). But I think that those movies should have everyday to slightly above-average cars (except of course muscle cars) to reach every guy that doesn't have the money to buy a Bugatti Veyron but could do a lot with a 74 Plymouth Satellite (for Muscle Car lovers) or a Honda Civic (the... other kind). So the series since Fast 5 shifted from a car movie to all out action movie with car elements to attract larger audiences (ok, just one race? Really? a Fast and Furious Movie?). Anyway I am 29 years old now, when I saw the first movie I was 15 years old and that movie scarred (in a good way) me and my friends (and my whole generation for that matter) for life. As young kids we all had motorcycles and ran all the time, did race each other and once or twice outrun the cops   :misbehaving:. But everyone wanted to buy a car and do the same things. Nobody could afford it and you had to be 18 to get a driver's license. So you see that that movie were like a revelation to us when we first saw it. Of course I had my own revelation when towards the end of the first movie I saw the prettiest car ever emerging with its roar and ending the movie. That's when I became a Mopar addict. I owe a lot to that movie and of course the second one which made me love E-bodies (the one with the orange Challenger). We grew up with those movies and these made us, as car lovers. And I'd like to point out what I think made this series unique, is that it brought out of the closet us, car guys, when everyone thought that guys who love cars, car mechanics and races are stupid or lesser citizens. It made the car culture mainstream and the cars themselves, main protagonists. Because the automobile is culture (don't let anyone say the opposite) as it reflects a nation's industrial prowess, style and prosperity. Of course there have been really good car movies (Vanishing Point, Bullitt, Gone in 60 seconds-1974 etc) which unfortunately were cult movies mostly. So these series made a lot more, at least to my generation. I'm saying all of this (sorry for all the talk) because when I heard Paul Walker died (a genuine car guy), I couldn't believe it, I looked over the Internet and thought it was a joke. There was a news broadcast in my country for his death, that's how much impact these movies made. The movie paid him respect to the ending of the movie, which was very sad and ending the series would be the best choice. I'm not saying I wouldn't watch another sequel but I think when the series shifted to more action oriented rather than car oriented, it was about time they end it, because the car thing attracted us in the first place and with Paul not there, it just will not be the same...

Saw it last night. Good movie, but probably the last one I will see in the theater. It was a freaking day care in there. And the other guy close to the front with his cell phone on 4 times throughout the movie. What's wrong with people?

Maybe if they showed every day cars more so than the Bugatti it wouldn't be as fantastical. I guy can walk out of the theater and get in his minivan after seeing Fast 7 and with a slight feeling make believe he is behind the wheel of something more. I think if they showed everyday cars it wouldn't have the same effect. It's like how 99.9% of people who buy Lowrider magazine or super cars magazines won't ever buy a supercar or build a lowrider to the extremes displayed in the magazine. People buy the magazines to envision and be inspired. Same for a movie.

Saw it last night and I thought the steel 68 in the final scene was the coolest on the movie!
And when I saw Alan spell the name "VIN" in all caps I realized, wow, thats an appropriate name. I wonder if that was on purpose?
Two comments. First, I would think the 72-74 Cudas should now be getting a little more love, especially with the younger generation. Second, I thought it interesting how they blended in a lot of non-mopar cars, probably so as to not make it so obvious that Dodge is footing the bill. I bet they ponied up at least 10 million for the product placement.
I spotted a few cool fords, chevies, an R8, and of course the aston martins (and one maserati) for the british dude, and all the super cars for the arabs. Not to mention the occasional rice stuff. All cool. I thought it was a nice mix.
In the first head to head chicken contest when they crashed, I thought, "hey, no fair, the aston martins got airbags". then Vin has to notice a beefed up chassis!?  :clueless:
At about 50-60 mph each they would have probably both been dead anyway.  :violin: :dogpile:

Funny thing is, we've been debating on just spraying it all black for the past 5 years.  Until we can afford to get the whole body restored.
