70 Challenger rear valance question
« on: November 11, 2014 - 08:40:39 AM »
We ordered a Goodmark valance with no cut outs and received this. Does the no cut out valance mount differently than the cut out style ? I checked the part # on the tag and this is suppoed to be right  :dunno: Don't look right to me. Anybody else run into this ?

Does it have a offset bracket on the other side for the license plate ?

I thought 1970 was a one year only setup.  That looks like the 71-74 bracket in the middle.

I think it is a direct fit for 73-74 but can be modified for other years    :screwy:

Yea, pretty certain they make one style to cover all the years. I'm sure you could modify it to your needs :2cents:

Thanks guys. This could be modified to fit a 70, but we got lucky and found an AMD. So this will go back. I'm still learning that when your looking for parts your often led to believe that that many 70 thru 74 parts are the same. Often not the case.

I think you'll be much happier w/ the AMD valance. I got both Goodmark and AMD versions of the Challenger valance w/ cutouts.  Big difference between the two.  AMD had thicker metal, crisper stamping, and the EDP was applied better.   It didn't feel as flimsy as the Goodmark version.

Problem is AMD is out of stock. We had one on back order thru Summit for 2 months, cancelled it and exchanged for the Goodmark, which were not happy with. Yesterday foung an AMD on Amazon ( 1 left )  bought it, then they cancelled it because out of stock. So were still looking for one.

Have you tried Dave @ Roseville?  Any luck finding a decent original piece?

You can also check Stephens Performance.  They had some discontinued pieces still in stock that I needed earlier this year.  Their website shows that the valance comes with the correct attaching brackets.

Yes, good point, there are a few vendors that stock AMD parts. I know I found a 1/4 panel at Tamraz's when everybody, including AMD was out of stock. :2cents:
