135 amp Mig welder at Eastwood. Act quick!
« on: November 11, 2014 - 09:00:50 AM »
For you guys wanting to start welding, there is a sale at Eastwood for the 135 Amp Mig Welder for $199.00, normally $349. Has a 3 year warranty and a 30 day free trial. Can weld up to 1/4". $22. for shipping!

Looks like the Lincoln SP-100 that I bought in 89-90 and have used to put all of my cars together and everything that I've welded. My Lincoln just died and I sent the board off for repair and was cruising the web for a fill in welder, when I found this. (mine is on the way!)

My 110 unit has served me well and can handle thick metals. Don't buy Harbor freight with 90 day warranty, or the cheapo Lowes or Home Depot models with 4 heat settings.

WOW if that has the same guts as the Lincoln Weldpack 100 that's a smokin deal.  My 100 has been going strong for almost 20 years and has paid for itself many many times over.
Yes I own a 1972 Dodge Challenger Convertible T/A S/E with a 440 Six Pak. Can it get any more wrong?

I clicked on the site last night and went to bed. This morning I saw the page said $199 from last night. I clicked the picture and the price changed to $279.  I started clicking around to try to find it again. It popped up at $199, I grabbed a screen shot, then quickly added to cart then checked out. If this was a mistake, I got one before I told anyone about it.

It still comes up to $199.  HERE:

My link above takes me to the $199 page and it will let me buy more at that price. It must be saved in my web history and pulls it from there. I can add to my cart, then checkout and buy more.  If I right-click and say open in new window, it comes up $279.

I can put 5 in the quantity then check out at the $199 price, but I don't feel like getting into the welder selling business.

If anyone else figures out how to get it to come up with $199 let us know. I got mine on it's way.

Funny, that the Electronics place that is repairing my Lincoln welder's circuit board, called today to give me an estimate.
Quoted $102.00 to repair my board with an 18 month warranty. (I have to get it fixed or have a useless welder to use as a boat anchor)
I asked, "does it include shipping back to me?"
She says "no".
I said "I just bought a whole welder for $199. You can repair my board if you include return shipping"
 She says "okay"

Paid over $575 for my Lincoln 110 welder in 89 and that didn't include the 80 Tank and flow meter I purchased at a Gas supply outlet. Went to hit the switch last week, the fan came on, but the trigger was dead.  I'm so used to rolling it out, plugging it in, then welding.   Instantly bummed!

I got my $199 Mig welder today after ordering on Tuesday. Good timing since I also got my repaired Lincoln board back today and it still didn't work.

I'm attaching the picture with the secret code in it. Only members here can see it so ACT QUICKLY before Eastwood shuts this code down.

I found the secret code to get the same price that I did. I had to do some searching but remembered that I had a "source" code entered into the field on the left of my shopping cart checkout.

Go to the Eastwood.com site
Click on the welders tab
click on the 135 amp Mig welder
Add it to your cart
click the cart to checkout
Enter the "source Code" from my picture
Hit "apply code"
The price changes to $199.      Continue to checkout and choose your shipping option. Mine was $22.xx halfway across the country and got it in 2 days.

Merry Christmas Cuda-Challenger members! And don't tell anyone till you get your welder delivered!

For that price, how can you explain that you passed on it.  Paying someone to do your welding for you would have paid for this welder many times over.

It has the option for a spool gun too. I don't see much aluminum welding at 135 amps but the option is there. Also comes with a dual stage flow gauge, hose, a roll of wire and a cheapo welding eye shield. Everything to start welding without the gas bottle.
I think I paid $85 for my ball-type flow meter years ago.

I hear ya man...but, when you have parts waiting to be picked up, and a month or so befor xmas, with 2 kids at home, its hard to spend any extra cash.

But man am I tempted.

Wow what a smoking deal I just bought one. Even though it's coming cross country I am impressed by the quality and the amount of folks that love this mig welder.

OK, I'll admit it ... I'm not much of a welder. My only experience is with an ancient "stick" welder and that was years ago. Always wanted to learn how to use a MIG and do my own work instead of hiring out. For this price I think its time I took the plunge and jumped in. Thanks for the heads-up Rob!

I put the discount code in and it came up as still being only $199 ... so I ordered it!

P.S. Rob, do you think I can drop by and get a little one-on-one instruction and practice??

Tom, I can help you if needed.
You'll love it. Mig welding is so easy and youtube is full of videos showing how a good bead should look and sound. You have to get a bottle of argon/CO2 to complete the package. I get my tanks through Cee-Kay and exchange them when empty. Use to be $15 to fill. I think it is $85 now.
You can buy a small full tank at Harbor Freight to get you started.
Gasless, Flux core welding is for "better than nothing" welding, if you are out in a field with high winds.
Learned how to Gas weld with torches during a 5th grade summer school shop class when I made a metal lamp. I think that was 71-72. My mom would sign us up for summer school to keep us busy 1/2 of the summer and let us pick the classes. I chose electronics for one and wood and metal working for the second. What great choices for a kid! I took welding in high school shop class. I was given a stick welder that I started welding with years later, then later got a mig to do all of the sheet metal on my race car in '89. Always wanted a tig, which is just like gas welding, but the good units are still sky high.

Funny how when a weldor sees scrap metal laying around, we don't see scrap. We always see things that I can make with it.
You'll see what I mean once you get started.
