Looking to buy my first cuda help me pic one
« on: November 16, 2014 - 10:41:53 PM »
I am looking for a cuda and I like the 72-74 models.  The main reason besides the cheaper price than the earlier hemi models is I ike the single headlights and grille better and the quad round tail lights like a corvette with a flat black rear looks sweet!

So what kind of budget are you working with?  A nice one can be had for $20 to $30k IMO . . . Or cheaper!

auto or four-speed?  318 or 340/360 car?  Colors?

Turn key?  One to restore?

agreed^^^ more info is needed. Budget will dictate. I just picked up a 1973 redone 340 'Cuda (BS23H) 4spd pistol grip #'s matching, only needing minor, and I mean minor finishings- you can message me and will tell you ballpark what it needed and what you can expect to pay.

he's right. IMHO I think this body style was modeled closely after the 69 Camaro and taillights of a Corvette to be competitive in the Pony Car race. :bricks1:

My advice is to buy the most solid & complete car you can afford , more $$ spent initially will save you money in the long run with any restoration project  :2cents:

Chevy period, went with dual rounds:

I actually really like the '72-'74 'Cuda taillights (much better than the '72-'74 Challenger taillights).  Would look better to replace the inboard reverse lights with regular brake lights and put in LEDs.
