    Do you have a picture of your fuel line vent cover ? It's in the passenger side rear wheel well. Just wondering if it's a two piece extending to the gas tank or just the one piece ?

    Any help would be appreciated  :2thumbs:

    Evening Alan,
    Here are some pics of mine (out of car obviously).
    If I remember correctly the line with the piece of cutoff rubber hose went to the nipple on the right (pass) side of the fuel tank through the hole in the frame rail.
    The long metal line just sorta hung out there in no mans land inside the frame rail.
    I always thought it strange to vent fuel vapor into the frame rail but what do I know :clueless:

    Anyway hope this helps, my rotisserie arrived yesterday, and Dave ordered my sheetmetal today :money:
    I hope to start the long climb back soon, still have to remove the cowl and A pillars before I can start putting it back together.

    Actually, I think you are both wrong. He's looking for the cover plate in the wheelwell that protects the line from stones off the rear tire, etc. ( I'm interested in what it looks like too... :) )

    Yes, you are correct. I have the complete vent line system, just wondering what the cover/shield looks like.
    In 1971 it's a one piece shield, but I'm thinking 1970 is different... :clueless:

    I fully understood what Alan was looking for but it won't be found on a 49 state vehicle.... And it doesn't protect "the line" it protects five lines.... There are actually supposed to be two pieces, the piece that acts sort of like a channel & passes through the frame and the piece that attaches to the wheel well.... I probably have one in my junk... But since it's buried & I probably don't know what I'm talking about I'll just shut up...  :2cents:

    Alan mine is an early CA production car and its two pieces. Car hasn't been restored yet and only taken off to replace dried out fuel lines. Best I could do real quick  :cheers:

    Actually you have two shields there.... Shield 1 passes through the frame supporting the hoses to prevent chafing....  Shield 2 is the one that attaches to the wheel well...

    Okay..this could be good news and the reason why I didn't find a cover amongst the parts that came with my AAR.

    Are you saying that 1970 Cudas with the vent line set-up that Greg posted DID NOT get any type of cover ?

    Sorry for the misunderstanding Alan,
    mine did not have the shield posted in Falbz's pics, and no evidence of any screw holes to attach the shields.
    Maybe since California was early to the party, it was a Cal only thing in 1970?

    I am certainly no expert when it comes to this stuff, although I am always willing to try and help.
    Figure it's payback for all the help you guys give me.

    Yup, 49 states (AKA Federal) no cover... California with the vapor separator in the trunk, two covers....

    Hey Randy,
    Know that we have that figured out, weigh in on the metal tube (the one that doesn't go to the fuel tank) that on mine was just poked through the cutout and hanging in the rear rail. Was it supposed to be attached to something?
