Twalker's stand is kinda what I had in mind for mine. Do you guys simply let the K-frame rest on the 2x2 tubing?
I saw that US CarTools stand has some pins pointing upwards, is there any holes in the K-Frame's underside?

Yep used round bar that fits into the holes of the k member to keep things where they should be - check out mine - better shot -

Good info! Gonna make mine in that same style. Found some of theese at the local hardware store, not sure what they are used for but I was gonna try to add them to support the engine in the back somehow. Adjustable from about 7 to 15 inches.

What do you mean? It's a 4 TB harddrive, it will handle anything!  :bigsmile:

Alan, I'm gonna lift my car like you did in the 71 Challenger shot there. Whats a good point to hook up the engine hoist if the grill and bumper are still in place?
I thought of using the bumper mounts, put a chain across or something. I gotta keep the lift arm as low as possible, since the ceiling is kinda low. it's gonna be tight.

On the frame rails there are two holes just if front of the forward K Frame bolt holes. I hook into there with some heavy duty tie downs

Got my stand almost done now. Whats missing is the support for the transmission, I will use woodblocks for now and make a support when the stuff is out and its easier to measure. Also gonna put some thick rubber gaskets around the pins so the K-frame dont get scratched later when its nice and painted. Wonder if I should have added support brackets in the front like twalker did?

Trust me, after you get the kmember in the car you will be doing touch up on it but pads will help.

When shimming up the transmission if the tranny is sitting a little bit lower than the motor is seems to help a bit when putting it in. In the end, you will lift the tranny up with the crossmember and bolt her up.

Now, when I got the engine out and on the stand, I notice that the weight of the engine is behind the point where my K-frame rests on the stand. I did it kinda like the US Car Tool version, Twalkers version probably works way better to support the K-frame. Now my K-frame is not in level and the weight pushes it up in the front. Gonna get the engine in a regular engine stand now and I will add a piece behind the pins, or just maybe copy Twalkers design and move the pins forward. Would be nice to have it right before I start putting things together again.

When I built mine I drilled holes for the pins and let them float, but unless I missed something what do you have supporting the tranny (or rear of engine)? If you look at how I did mine, or TWalker did his there is a rear support
(in my case adjustable) to support the tranny or rear of engine, Without this you are basically working with a teeter/totter.
I just used 2 1/2" tube to slip over the 2" tube and use a bolt through a welded nut to lock it.
