« on: December 03, 2014 - 02:59:21 AM »
One of our local Mopar guys has decided to sell his 71 Hemi Challenger that he bought new. Check out the Mecum ad. It is a very interesting story.

I hate to say it but I think he failed to enjoy his car! it would have been worth the same with 10k miles on it.

190-200K usd? I have a hard time valuing cars that high. I am only using this car as a reference but it's a 1970.

That's way to Cool! Love the dealership story too. I bought new a Z28 years ago, and stored it for 3 years. After 3 years I decided that I needed to enjoy it! This guy had a lot more will power than me. I would guess this car should hit 200,000.00 minimal. Its a true survivor! :smokin: :dogpile:

So far I've counted 18 Hemi Mopars are consigned so far. Not to mention an AAR and a T/A cream of the crop cars. Going to be a very exciting auction.  I'll be taking tons of  :picture:

Unfortunately the 71 Challenger brings less then half of what a 71 Cuda would bring, so I would guess $200K - $250K :2cents:

That is extremely nice!

Crazy that it only has 1,800 miles on in over F-O-R-T-Y  T-H-R-E-E  Y-E-A-R-S!
That's less miles than the Zach Reynolds '71 HemiCuda which has 2,000 miles on it - and RK Motors is asking $1.99 million for that one!

True the '71 HemiCuda's are the kings of the big money hill; but this car is an exceptional low-mile time capsule much like the Reynolds Cuda. It won't bring seven figures but I would venture to say that the Reserve on it will be pretty high and if it goes at all, it will go to one of the big money collectors for $400K (or more?).
Cheers!

with so many consigned Hemi cars, it might mean some deals too ...... I'd bet this one is near the top of the $$ though

I believe most of the other Hemi cars are Tim Wellborn's ... and he isn't going to be giving them away. I think it's going to be high-rollers with BIG money making the deals. I think the Hemi's will bring the Six-Pak cars up with them too. I think some deals may be found in the big-block coupes. With the Hemi's and Six Pak's going to the BIG money guys, the big-block coupes will be the next "big thing" for the middle guys. None the less, it will be interesting to see just what happens with this amazing uber-low-miles Hemi Challenger
