Hello Everyone,

I have bought this car recently to restore it as a gift for my dad.

In my "newbie" post where i introduced myself, many of you contibuted in advising me on what to get for parts and i took all your advice.

This is a thread to let you know what i have bought and what is being done to the car on a regular basis.

The car is a 1970 A66 Challenger with a 340 Auto trans. Matching numbers.

Here are a few pics of the car, it is being restored ar IAP racing in Virginia.

Parts bought for resto :

Carb : Edelbrock CF600 (using it while i get the original refurbished)
Radiator : Champion 3 core
Battery : Optima
Coils : MSD 8534 + 6425
Suspension : KYB gas Shocks
Gas Tank + sender : Spectra premium
Front brake disc kit : SSBC 4 piston drum to disc with brake booster
Wheels tires : Wheel vintiques Rally wheels on cooper tires (15x6 front 245/ 60/ 15, 15x7 rear 267/60/15)
Headers : TTI ceramic headers
Exhaust : TTI 2.5" X pipe
Seat covers : Legendary vinyl covers
Steering wheel : TUFF wood steering wheel while i restore original rimblow - Need a good restorer ??
Fuel lines : custom job by IAP racing
Air Cleaner : Mopar Performance
Valve Cover : Mopar Performance
Valve Gasket : Moroso
AMD Flip Top gas


There is only rust in the trunk, which will be addressed with a AMD trunk pan.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated, this is my first restore.

Thank you for the correction, the seller who sold me the car told me it was an S/E , not really familiar with Mopar, i am learning as i go.

Could you correct me on the model ?

I guess, after research, i saw that these parts keep the car running better.

I am not going to race the car, i just want a solid build.

I will be keeping all original parts in case i ever want to sell.

but i think 300+ hp is more than enough for the old man :P

I've used Gary's Steering Wheel Restoration in Carlisle , Pa. 3 times, absolute awesome work.

Nice!good  To know. I sent my wheele there a few weeks ago! They gave me a detailed list on how much everything is gonna cost and where super friendly and helpful and called me when the wheel arrived. Yeah he told me the same about five months.

Radiator arrived, must say i was impressed by quality.

Champions 3 core polished and overflow tank.
