My son's Challenger has had a re-purposed framing square as part of his shift linkage for over ten years. The car came with it--I swear. He is redoing almost everything on the car and he can't bear to look at that bracket anymore. He and I are looking for the brace that attaches to the tranny with two bolts and that the upright rod (torque shaft, in the manual) pivots on. Here's what's been in there:
