Looking to buy an AFR set up.
« on: December 08, 2014 - 10:48:23 AM »
Anyone got some ideas of where to buy a decent set up. I don't want anything super expensive, but i want a good reliable and long lasting one. I would prefer a digital read out inside and perhaps 2 probes, one for each side. I do have an H style crossover, so maybe one probe would be okay.

I have this one,

So far I am happy with it. Cost about $200 and has been installed for two summer seasons. So far no issues.

I'm looking to do this myself, especially with the six pack motor.  Thanks for the links.

I bought an new Autometer wide band AFR gauge from a ebay seller (store)  in Florida for around $220. I can get the link if you need. Single sensor but works well. You can install dual sensor ports in each bank and plug one off. Swap the sensor to the opp bank for tuning if you need.

I did exactly this   :agree:
Has worked well, just trying to get things dialed in still.

Sorry for dredging up an old thread but....can the 02 sensor be put into the "x" pipe or is that too far back/too cold by the time the exhaust gets that far?  Installing a meter for one bank and swapping would be a pain....what about some sort of switch to use one guage and a switch to swap from one o2 sensor to the other?

Too far away, running it off of one bank is fine. Your idle screws are about the only place it will make a difference, just make sure the non-o2 side is the same turns as the o2 side. You can get one gauge that reads two widebands if you must do it.

Good info, I'm also curious about the best spot to put it?
I have factory manifolds with TTI exhaust with the H-pipe.

I think they say within 24" of the head in a tube common to all cylinders.
