AAR exhaust pics?
« on: December 09, 2014 - 06:31:07 PM »
Anyone have a pic of what the routing of the AAR exhaust looked like?

Two links:

The second link, if you scroll thru the slide show, will show you the mount location  (It looks as if the tips mount near the outboard sides of the front leaf spring mounts)

It almost looks like the bracket for the tips is going through the quarter panel.  They mounted mine wrong but I can not figure out where it is supposed to go which is why I'm asking.

The tip hangers bolt to the inside of the rocker panel  :2cents:

Hey Frazz,
I haven't taken the hangers off mine yet, I will send you a shot tonight when I get home of how they attach.

dfrazz,
See attached pics from my AAR.
As Alan said earlier they bolt to the inside of the rocker, they are just about dead nuts even with the front leaf spring hangers.
I haven't gotten around to unbolting mine yet, but I assume they have a blind nut/threaded plate behind the rocker.
Check out my resto thread for my latest issue with my trip down the rabbit hole.

Greg

That is exactly what I needed to see.  The guys that installed mine (before I bought it) put a bolt through the pinch weld.   :faint:

Well he was close, :roflsmiley: they hang low enough as it is without any help from installing them wrong.
I'll see if I can pull one off tomorrow after work and let you know if I can tell what they are attached to.
For some reason I seem to remember someone saying there was a threaded plate behind the rocker.

mine is mounted right, but what can I do to have the mufflers a little higher? they are very low, I had to renew the muffler strap two times...

Can't really see in the pic.  The OEM straps make the mufflers hang low.  You can customize the hangers, but need to be careful the exhaust from the motor or out to the tip does not start banging on the floor board.

ok, I thought to let the straps be as they are and to customize the tips which go up to the left and right ..

I try to make a better pic tomorrow... thx anyway..
