SHIPPING HELP PLEASE
« on: December 10, 2014 - 09:10:19 AM »
What size box would be required to ship the upper and lower rear seat of an E-Body car? What is the best freight route to take UPS, FED EX, etc. ?

Not sure of the size of box, but you should consider Greyhound.  It is by far the cheapest, the only downside is you need to take it to/pick it up at a bus station.

You might check with a shipping company for a large wardrobe box.

If the upholstery is not important, just wrap them together in a layer or two of bubble wrap and then cover that with some plastic and tape it up tight.  The packages don't have to be rectangular.

I like to use Fed Ex.
Make them pack it.
then they will insure it.
Have not had a problem doing it this way.

Make sure your insurance amount is more than your actual cost.

If they don't pack it, they won't warranty the insurance money you spent.

I have had dash's and such broken because of not having Fed Ex pack it.  I packed it, insured it and sent it.  Came up broken with no insurance warranty.
