70 Cuda Tail Panel Clips
« on: December 12, 2014 - 04:32:21 PM »
Ok, so I'm trying to install the tail panel trim and the plastic clips barely fit in the mounting holes. And for sure the plastic pins won't go in after installed because the four prongs are almost entirely closed up. The holes are the same as oem as I took the measurements from my original tail panel. Am I missing something?

Found another set of clips and they are made correctly.

Have any pics of the corners before install? I believe they are not the same plastic retainer but some sort of bolt on right?

Yes, the corners are bolt on. Metal clips with stamped nuts (3 per side).

I can tell you, the plastic clips that worked had small o-rings around them to seal up the mounting holes.

Looking good!  Was that tail panel trim original or reproduction?

The trim was original. I took the dents out and polished it using Cody's videos as a reference.
