Paint crack on windshield pillars, both sides

Noticed the paint is cracking slightly on the windshield pillars right before they meet the roofline. It is on both sides, in the exact same location. How should this be addressed? The paint job is horrible and peeling elsewhere but this seems odd it's in the same spot on both sides. Is it a possibility the body is flexing causing this? See below for location of crack:

Factory lead in both spots?

Factory used lead, but I bet someone put bondo in there hence the cracking.

There should be very little flexing in that area.  More than likely it is the result of poor bodywork when the car was repaired/repainted before.

Someone posted on moparts that typically cars with vinyl roofs used filler while cars without used lea in this area, is there any truth to that?

My 74 w the vinyl top had led in that area.

Vinyl Top cars did not necessarily get Lead on the front A pillars and sail panels.

I know this for a fact since I owned my car since 1972. It wasn't leaded.

For whatever reason, certain vinyl top cars/years had a wierd type of filler instead of a lead.

Mine has cracks there too. No big deal to me? Mine needs a paint job at some point?  :money:

My car was a vinyl top car, it had lead in the rear seems and Bondo in the front.

I have had two 1972's that had body filler in that place and the sail panel. Both had been re painted and may have had the lead replaced as body filler will not stick to lead and body shops refuse to deal with it. I have leaded both areas and welded the lower corner where the sail panel meets the rear window. These were a problem with both of the cars. I am hoping that with my frame strengthening efforts and lead filling this will curb this problem. I have seen the cracks appear in cars with as little as six month's after their re spraying with body filler only.

Hummm no plans yet? The paint doesn't bother me it's good for awhile! Wow it gets painted depends on finances I guess?

I've seen some guys us a metal strip welded in these seems to prevent cracking or filler bubbling. I actually used Metal to Metal filler since I stuck on a vinyl top. My car originally had led in both front and rear seams.
