Throttle cable length
« on: December 16, 2014 - 02:20:11 PM »
Can anyone tell me what length my throttle cable should be ? Bought a replacement locally for 72 340 cuda but appears to be too short, original one was about 22 1/2" but replacement only about 20". Car has a torker manifold & 4106 Edelbrock carb. I don't want to ring supplier unless I'm sure he sent me the wrong one.
cheers...

72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

I HAVE OFTEN HAD TO MAKE A steel extention from the end of the cable up to the carb pin with raised intakes

Intake is std height, so no problems there. After reading the above links I am pretty sure he sent me the wrong one even though he insists that the larger cable (23") is for big blocks. He's going to send anyway so I can compare.
thanks all....
