you will have to change your front spring hanger if you go to an e body spring. those hangers are for the shorter a body springs.  :2cents:

Those are the longer front spring hangers for the Super Stock springs he has in the car.

The Super Stock springs have a shorter front section to control axle wrap when launching at the dragstrip.

Yes if he replaces the Super Stock springs he will need to replace his current front hangers.

Thanks for yet more great info! These are the hangers I have on the car now.

Just for clarification, are the XHD springs the same as the "stock height" spring? And the SS springs (which I have now) are a bit higher?

Your rear tires are roughly 1.5" taller than mine. I will take your suggestions. Thanks again and I hope we can meet up sometime!

Yes I would love to check out some of your cars!

The Summit part number you linked above are the same XHD leaf springs I installed, was unhappy with and returned.

I have taller 245/60-15 tires on the front of my Challenger to try to match the rear tire height, I think the fronts are about an inch shorter than the rears.

I have Super Stock springs on my street/strip 1973 Challenger.

They hook decent at the dragstrip but are rather stiff riding on the street.

They do raise the car up in the rear.
Mine have been on the car for over 12 years and haven't settled or lowered much at all.

Do a search here under suspensions for Super Stock springs and you should find a number of posts and pictures about them.

If you decide to swap springs with stock types you will need to replace your current front spring hangers.

They make a number of different Super Stock spring setups in different stiffness for the different Mopar Body styles.

On my purple R/T Challenger I ended up using softer Super Stock springs from a smaller/lighter A body Mopar.

This softer spring gave me the lower ride height I wanted and a softer ride on the street.

When next spring comes around and your able to tinker with your car's torsion bars and drive it you'll be able to get a good idea which direction you want to go.

Our Challenger had "drag" springs on it. I'm not sure what the technical name for them is but I will check as well as the hangers. They gave the car a small rake, but ultimately left too much wheel gap. 255/60/15 on the rear. The springs gave a slight tilt to the rear of the car.
