Newb from OH w/ a 70 Challenger
« on: December 17, 2014 - 07:54:30 PM »
Just checking in. Bought a 70 Challenger in AZ (rust free, factory AC car) in May. Attempted to drive it back to OH down RT 66, made it to Albuquerque NM. Had some issues there and trailered it home. It was an original 318 3spd auto, it now has a 360 Mopar Performance crate motor w/ a big cam. We are in the middle of swapping it over to a fuel injected 440 with a 6 spd... which is why I am here. Figured I would find the answers I am looking for on the trans swap here. Going to use a t56 out of a buddies Viper. I will start a new thread and do my research/searching on the swap.

I know I am going to get berated for pictures! I will post them up as soon as I get home.

Just wanted to say Hey!

P.S. This is hilarious, definitely my kind of forum!

Welcome from CO!  Sounds like you had an interesting experience with your new car driving it home, the the engine/tranny swap sounds cool.  There are a couple of threads of guys who have done it and are in the middle of it.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Welcome to the sight!
Let's get those pictures coming. :picture:
"There's no such thing as putting a '70 AAR 'Cuda exactly where you want it. The 'Cuda isn't interested in such things, for they require finesse. Finesse asked the 'Cuda out to dinner once, but the 'Cuda stood it up to go drink beer under an overpass with her hot little sister. As far as this car is concerned, finesse can go stuff itself."
