Dart M Code Rear End
« on: December 18, 2014 - 05:44:36 PM »
Guys, I am looking at a rear end for a 1969 Dart M code that I found here in the RGV on craigslist.  The rear end has teeth missing on the ring gear.  It a Dana 60 of course.  Is this common.  Or was it pushed too hard.  Will a stick rebuild be good or should I beef it up.  I am building my first clone car.  I have a 70 Hemi Runner Clone and this is to be a 500hp max. Dart M clone.  thanks

Odd situation , it is tough to break a Dana 60 they are regularly used in high HP cars ,
Enough HP , good traction & a 4 spd could take a gear set out but it is unusual , if you rebuild it correctly it should last years again .

That's what I thought - Only the Super Stock Darts received the Dana.  M Code was the aftermath of Mr. Norm showing the engineers that a 440 would fit in the A-Body.
