After 4 years....
« on: December 22, 2014 - 08:35:40 AM »
After 4 years of working on my 1972 Challenger with an 318 engine. Still a lots to do, never finished.

An restomod by now, but to my liking.

Enjoy

Looks great! I love the colour!  :2thumbs: Quite an improvement from when you started!  :clapping:
I'd ditch that plastic fuel filter for a steel one if it was mine though?

The story:
As you saw, hood painted gloss black as well as the around the rear lights.
Colour is Sikkens with code 420A6

I loved the XV challenger combo so much that I tried to find an color as close as possible. This is my version of it.

Slightly Lowered in the front sitting on
Boss 338 black gloss 18 inch.
Front 18 x 8, BS of 5, Tires Nitto 245/45/R18, regular shocks
Rear 18 x 9.5, BS of 5, Tires Nitto 295/45/r18, Gabriel airshocks,
Modification of the rear lips(primarly passenger side )was necessary for the clearance, and lost some turn circle space in the front.
318 Engine Completely overhauled overbored 0.030 with an 268 comp cam, Edelbrock Highrise intake
4 barrel 600cfm holley carburartor. MSD 6AL conversion. Hedman short headers.
Powermaster 140amp high capacity alternator and yes GM 4 point brake cylinder modified to fit the Mopar 2 point(long story behind it)
and of course the Mopar performance valve cover and air cleaner to match the black and silver look in the engine bay surrounded by the yellow/orange car body color.

Started in 2010 with the purchase of the car from craigslist for $7500

Looks great and the colours pop! May I make one suggestion? Perhaps move what looks like the headlight wiring under the hood latch plate rather than over it? I'd be worried that one day the hood latch may clip it and perhaps cause a short and it's be a shame to lose such a nice car like that.

LOVE it!!!!!!    :wow:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.
