Ok guys and gals,

I have been working with tuning software for quite some time and finally have a system down to calibrate GenIII (and some gen IV) hemi engines to stand alone utilizing the factory ecm. I also can do the wiring harnesses for said installs. I plan on disclosing this information for the betterment of this forum. There are SOOO many sites out there for GM LS swaps that it isn't funny, our GENIII and IV Hemi's should be the same. For some reason in the Mopar world, it is taboo to share information on these swaps, even though many people have done them. This is bull-poop. I'm all about sharing. It is ridiculous for us to pay $1,000 for just a wiring harness that can be built for $300 or less, including an original harness to modify.

The problem I have is, I need base tune files so that I can perform over writes or segment swaps. For example, if someone wants to use a 727/904 or A-833 old school transmission on these engines... I need a manual transmission file.

What I am Currently looking for are any factory calibration files for hemi factory equipped manual transmission cars.

More specifically, a 2005 5.7 Hemi Ram with manual transmission and a 2006 300C with manual transmission.

Any other manual transmission files are appreciated, but I need those two above to get started.

Are you doing both controllers?  '05 Ram is a JTEC controller and PCI bus.  No LX cars had manual transmissions. LC platform Challengers in '10 was the first manual Hemi car. That is an NGC controller with Can C bus.

Yeah I can do both setups. There were options for the 2500 Hemi ram to have the manual trans, I wasn't sure about the LX cars.

As long as the operating software is consistent, I can segment swap manual transmission tunes.

Without a doubt, the non-canbus version is easier to mess with on a stand alone setup, but I'm working g on something for canbus specifically to integrate that new technology

Thanks YellowFin for doing this!  This will help bring down the cost of these swaps.   :clapping:

I know Dave Weber has been working on a stand alone controller for using a NAG1 on an old motor but progress has been slow.  Would this be something you could do as well?  Does the factory ecm already control the engine and trans or does it have a separate factory controller?

Nag1 uses a secondary or independent controller. I can tune these controllers, but I am unsure as how to interface them with an old school engine yet. It's a project for after the hemi write up and full disclosure

Update: I have gone through factory service manuals and have the PCM pin outs cross referenced. Now on to build a harness, test and then do a write up

This is going to be great if this works and is affordable, a lot more conversions would be made

What vehicle? 2005 ram?

I built a bench top tuning system for GM PCM's so that I can flash them as mail order tunes. People send me there PCM's and I tune then send back.

I will be building the same setup for Chrysler PCM's

It is out of a 2007 ram. I was planning to get a new harness and 05 PCM from hotwire auto

Yes it can be done with your 07 setup, but you have to retain the can bus setup. 2005 is the easiest to use, PCM wise. Keep the 07 harness as there are only minor differences. There is a 2005 ram PCM on eBay right now for $75.

It's up to you if you want to keep can bus or if you want to just swap to a 2005 ecm on your 07 harness

2004 ram PCM's are just as good as the 2005 on a side note

Can bus has it's benefits. I'm using a 2006 PCM in the future to run the modern gauges that monitor windows, fuel, radio etc

So far the basis is this for the 4 PCM plugs

Black plug (C1): this is what powers the PCM for the most part. Power, grounds, starter relay, 12v key on, 2 injectors, one O2 sensor wire

Orange plug (C2): engine side for sensors, injectors, coils, throttle motor control

White plug (C3): fuel pump relay control and support functions

Green plug (C4): transmission control. Not needed for manual trans or old school 727/904 transmissions.

My engine is an MDS 2006 Hemi from a 300C. The engine harness is far cleaner than the ram one so I wanted to use it. I only have to swap two pins around to run the 05 ram PCM. Everything else is the same

04 and 05 ram are the same. Look for more details by Friday, including a pin out comparison and what is needed to make this work. Seriously easy.
