The heat shrink PN# is CBRAH070.  It is a from a recall, so it is cheap.  The connectors are from OE harness's.  LKQ just cuts the harness when they sell used engines and I take the leftovers.

I wouldn't recommend used connectors when you can buy new ones for $5-$6 at mouser.com but your method works wonders in a pinch!

I'm not quitting yet fellas. Plenty of more info to come!

To get this straight, you are going to be providing harnesses with OEM connectors for $300, or thats a rough cost and you are going to tell us how to build them/make them standalone in this thread?

ETA: How are you finding connector part numbers? It is a continual thorn in my side to try to find electrical connectors for all makes/models without a stock harness on hand.

I am going to show you how to make your own harness and have the PCM flashed for a total of less than.  $300. The actual harness should cost you less than $50.00 (not a typo) to modify and make stand alone, depending on if you have a car or truck harness to start with. Trucks are easier but less aesthetically pleasing. The PCM flash is what costs the most. Usually $250 or so. I now have the ability to do these and will be offering that service to Lon standing cc members (more than 100 posts)  at cost per vehicle license. It costs me as a tuner $100 to flash the PCM's. Thus,  that is what I will charge to those individuals. Non long standing cc members and others will be $150 per vehicle.

Connectors I found on mouser.com. They have so many connectors I lost count. Easiest way to determine a connector is using an oem
Service manual. I used my 2005-2006
Ram factory dodge service manual that I purchased on eBay for
$8

Subscribing to this thread, very interested. I picked an 08 Hemi up for my dad last year and it's been sitting, waiting to go into something. Would love to see where this heads....

Same here, a hemi swap is in the future. Stock look, modern engine is the goal. Trying to learn here. I know electronics and I'm good with computers. Just gotta get all those abbreviations sorted out now :)
NGC, TCM, VSS, hmm... I'll go get a BLT for now..

What's the reason to reflash the PCM?
I'm going to be running a stock 5.7 (with SRT cam) and 545rfe trans.

There are several reasons to flash the PCM. The main reason is the SKIM or Security Key Interface Module. It is the factory anti-theft system built into the PCM. Flashing the PCM allows you to turn this function off, thus allowing you to use your oem ignition key and starting system. Without this function disabled, the vehicle will crank up and die within a few seconds. The SKIM looks for a specific ignition key with an RFID tag in it. If the module does not read this specific tag, the PCM goes into theft protection mode.

Secondly, the flash allows you to disable many emission and check engine light codes, so that you can install the new powertrain and actually have a functioning malfunction indicator lamp. Not one that just stays on all the time.

You can turn off rear oxygen sensors to run without catalytic converters, calibrate speedometers to a T, change shift points and line pressures in automatics, change all engine parameters from ignition timing, VE maps, fuel trims, idle speeds, knock sensor sensitivity etc.

It is especially necessary to calibrate the PCM to optimize your engine after a cam swap.

After much thought, I am starting a kickstarter project to raise funding for a Hemi Swap Database and file sharing system. The plan now is to post a collection of PCM calibrations and technical articles for all those interested in gen III hemi swaps. Punch lists on what you will need, where to get it and how to do it yourself.
Contributors to the project will receive benefits such as complete PCM calibrations by mail, access to all files and technical assistance when needed.

I need the funds to buy multiple OEM PCMs and tuning rights so that I can compile the tune repository.

For example: someone wants a 5.7 w a-833 tune on their PCM. Simply log on to the database and select the tune that best suits your build.

I do not want any money or profit off the database, I just want to create it for all Mopar brethren to enjoy. We are falling behind the LSX GM crowd and need to catch up!

This is great! I wish this was available when I made my harness. I used a 2004 durango 5.7 with my a904 and spent hours going over the FSM wiring schematics and pin-outs. along  with figuring how to  integrate this with the original car wiring to keep my factory gauges so it worked together. if there is anything I can do to help with the wiring let me know.

Nice, very interested. I have a question before I contribute. Will there be instructions/info/tutorials for those of us who is newbies to Hemi swaps? (Hemi Swaps for Dummies! ;)). You guys that knows a lot seem to jump right in to it. I have been reading a lot and trying to catch up with the lingo and I got some of it, but I still can not find a good tutorial that explains the process of the computer, tables, all the sensors and their behaivors from scratch. When I do my swap, I wanna know everything about how it works.
