I really hope that this takes off. I think that it is an awesome idea, and one I would jump on if I wasn't so far back/away from swap on my project. I do think you are going to be experiencing the same problem as every other company who does parts or service for Mopars though. That is quite simply lack of demand, largely impart to low production numbers of these vehicles, even less that are still around, and even less that are doing a modern hemi swap. Chevy's have the production numbers so there are tons out there and parts manufacturing is cheap. I never want to hear a guy restoring Chevy's tell me that his parts are expensive, they have no clue.  That being said Mopars are the coolest muscle cars and the only one I would spend the time restoring.

I also do think that probably despite your status on the forum here a lot of people are a "leery" of throwing money to a guy advertising a service that will happen at a later date. I haven't been here very long, so you may know a lot of people here in real life, I don't know. I just know as a general rule from my experiences on other forums, these type of things sometimes never materialize or the poster vanishes and so does the money.

I think that if you were to have a teaser, or something that shows this deal is actually happening, it would help a lot of people jump on.

It may be a good idea to get a website going, have some free info on there, username/password protect the directory/pages containing the good info. Such that full access is restricted to full "participants" who have paid money in.

Good luck and I hope that this really pans out. I'll be excited to throw some money your way if it does, when I get to this point. In the interim, I will keep the PCM list around and if I catch a good deal will buy it and lend it to the program.

Heck, I'd pay the $150.00 just to obtain the information on building the harness. I know that creating wiring harnesses is semi pricey and time consuming, but paying $1k for an engine harness for these swaps is beyond absurd.

Hmm.

If it turns out the kickstarter isn't successful, perhaps single repository web site (I can provide that hosting, if need be) would be a good start, along with a listing of "parts needed" for research - For instance, track which computers / harnesses you'd need, and give folks the opportunity to send one along if they come across one? I know I would, certainly. I wouldn't mind my next swap being a little less expensive!

I bought a new harness for my 6.4, but I kept the one that came on the donor engine, just in case....

Kickstarter fell through, as I partially expected. I am building the website, but trying to figure out the code for password protection. Some information will be public, but undecided on full disclosure date. The kickstarter was really disappointing. This won't deter me from the project, but I am unsure of how to share the info now.

Hope you figure out how to share your info in a way that works for you. I'm happy to pay for access to a website with good info, been trying to buy books on the subjects but there is no good ones. My Hemi swap is probably a 1-2 years ahead, and I wanna be well prepared for it.

I'm in the same boat as Soundcontrol, but I would like to help out as I get closer to the swap.  I have a garage to build first.

Hey man, let me know when you come up with something as I'm definitely going to need to do something sometime soon. I am ready when you are, hopefully not before you are. I did my part with pledging on your Kickstarter, but obviously, we needed more people to get it going. So again, please let me know when you come up with something.

Are you really building the website from scratch? There are a multitude of free off the shelf software packages that allow you to do exactly what you are discussing... This plan is a lot smarter though, think it will workout better than a Kickstarter. Honestly, I'm a younger guy and not really a fan of that Kickstarter stuff. Sure it is even more so for the older guys who would be your prime customers. Most people are familiar/ok with a simple shopping cart/website type situation though.

Good luck.

I'm using webserif, which is a pretty straight forward page builder. I've used it a few times since college. I've just never setup a log in service before.

Agree with the new motor trans combo being easier.  I am sure I read that a pickup on the driveshaft works for the speed sensor.  I have yet to read how to retro fit the non slip yoke from the NAG1 to a 8 3/4 rear.  Someone has done yet by now but I can't find what was used.

A bolt on slip yoke like on a 4wd would adapt over to uable drive shaft I think.  :thinkerg:

Advancements coming soon. I am working with a company to establish SKIM disabling for our swaps. I am also working on a new fuse/relay setup.

Pictures to come.
