Several Questions on Restoring Interior Items ....Help
« on: December 22, 2014 - 08:08:12 PM »
My car should be back from paint next month. 70 Challenger WSS. I have several questions on various things I need to do, and would appreciate any comments, input. Thanks in advance. Doug

-I need to find a non rallye heater control panel ( lower, driver side of the dash, black plastic )... anybody reproduce these ? ( I saw Tony's parts sells the rallye version ) Swap meet item ? Ebay ?

-I need to restore the mechanism's inside the door ( that the door handles attach to, has rods, clips, bushings, etc,,,) Looks a bit intimidating to do on my own,,,,is there someone that restores this type of stuff ?

- I have a rim blow steering wheel,,,,,any ideas on where to get it restored ?

- Has anyone used a "parts kit" for putting all of the parts back together in their doors ? ( clips, bushings, etc ) Do they sell a kit that can be used to replace some of the old, broken plastic parts, pieces inside the door,,,,,,alot of this stuff is gone or broke on disassembly...

-Do they make a "screw kit" for the car ??,,,would be nice to install some nice shiny screws as i put the car back together,,,,

Thanks for any comments you guys might have.....

As far as fasteners go R/T Specialties is the way to go on Mopars! http://www.rtspecialties.net/

You can buy the re-pop heater control for a rallye dash and convert it.  You just need to cut out a section that matches the speedometer housing diameter. :thumbsup:

post on "parts wanted" for the heater control.  I bet someone has one they'll part with.

dfrazz;
Thanks for the picture. I will need to find a non a/c dash piece. I removed the a/c from the car, and put a non a/c dash in. I have the same part as you pictured. Thanks for the offer !
Appreciate all the other responses.
I will keep you guys posted on my progress.
