I think it looks boring without them.  Since the owner is not going to use the factory side mouldings, he might as well put the billboards on...  and change the color of the paint too...  :grinyes:

I voted yes. I think the high impact colours need "something" to break it up. To much of a good thing? I'm with Dutch , purple is not my most favourite colour but to each his own.

Another +1 for the hockey stick stripe, but agree something is needed to break up the purple.

Billboards were what made 71 Cuda's different. I voted to go with them. You'll never see that on another car again.

i voted yes too. really helps break up the solid colors and adds a lot to the look. couldn't see doing a hockey stripe, it would look odd on a '71, esp with the gills.

I voted YES!

I know there are more cars out there that "now" have billboards than those that rolled off the factory with them....but they sure set off the car.

Voted no. Not a big fan of the billboards. Covers too much of those beautiful slab sides. If I had to though they'd be black not white. Not crazy about FC7 either but if it's original so be it.

:aarg:  I would rather you did it TX9! Add a luggage rack while you're at it.  :aarg:

Not really a "restoration" if you start changing colours and adding options... :2cents:

That is the answer does he want it original. Or
Paint the shaker white if you add the Billboards and spoiler.

Being that it's a matching number 440 Six Pack, auto 4:10 Super Trac Pac car with original shaker hood and rubber bumper and the gorgeous purple/white combo......I think the owner wants a full OE type resto....
If I could find the correct body side moldings I would push them on him too.......but that's just me..... ::)

Most people can't believe I'm going to pull this car completely apart....it looks pretty darn good as is :nono:

  Yes for me too.  Love the billboards!
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.
